Keynote title : Adapting Higher Education for a Sustainable Future: Addressing Climate Change Challenges
Short biography : Dr. Mohsen Saeedi is currently a professor of sustainability in the Department of Marketing, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship at the University Canada West (UCW), Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Saeedi has also been a professor in the water and environment department of the School of Civil Engineering of the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). He holds two PhDs, one in environmental and the other in civil engineering.
Dr. Saeedi has been a post-doctoral research fellow and a sessional lecturer at the University of British Columbia. He also taught sustainability-related courses at the City University of Seattle.
He has over 20 years of successful academic experience in higher education. He served as Director of the Office of Assessment and Evaluation at Iran University of Science and Technology (reported to the President of the university), Dean of the School of Civil engineering, deputy of research at the School of civil engineering, deputy of education, postgraduate studies manager, and head of the department of water and environmental engineering. He has also been an affiliate member of the civil engineering branch of the Iran National Academy of Sciences (IAS).
He also was an advisor to the CEO of environmental, engineering, and construction companies for over ten years. Dr. Saeedi has years of industrial experience both in Canada and Iran.
He is also an associate editor and editorial board member of several international journals, such as Frontiers in Public Health, and Frontiers in Sustainability.
He was granted many awards and honors, including the Excellence in Research Award from IUST, the Faculty of Applied Science of UBC Graduate Award, and the Graduate Scholarship Award of CSAP of British Columbia.
Dr. Saeedi has published over 100 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and presented over 60 conference papers at national and international events.
